Editorial policy and AI use
Who we are
Skin Routine Notes is an independent information site that explains everyday health and self-care topics in plain language. It is not a clinic, salon or shop, and we don’t offer treatment or bookings. “Skin Routine Notes Editorial Team” on our articles refers to this site’s editorial process, not to an individual doctor or expert.
How we use AI
Article drafts are written by generative AI. A person does not read and edit each article before it is published. When writing, the AI is instructed to:
- Not invent organization names, study names, figures or patient numbers that have not been verified
- Not claim authority it does not have, such as saying a doctor or expert advised on, checked or recommended the article
Before publishing, automated checks, including an AI review, re-check some items, such as wording that promises a treatment outcome. Automated checks do not catch every problem.
How we handle sources
The AI does not look up or read sources while writing. That is why it is told not to use exact statistics or study figures, and to describe what is generally known together with its limits. Outside links are kept only when they point to pre-approved sources, such as public health agencies.
After publishing
For a few days after publishing, some items are automatically re-checked, and the site operator is alerted if a problem is found. When an article’s content is corrected, the last-modified date we report to search engines changes.
Please note
Articles on this site are general information and do not replace diagnosis or treatment. If you have symptoms or need to make a decision, talk with a doctor or another qualified professional.
